* Describe your first student teaching context (school setting). What school are you at, what are some of its characteristics, and what classes are you teaching, and how are classes scheduled at your school?

I am placed in North Kingstown High School till May 7th, 2009. It recently had an addition. It has three floors, a courtyard, and nice big science labs. It has a seeming small mount of diversity compared to other schools in R.I. They follow a two-day, block scheduling setting, with ninety minute blocks and a half-hour advisory each day. I have started out teaching two Earth Science classes, one each day.

* Explain one of your "stealth" objectives that you want to accomplish with your students and why.

One of my stealth objectives is to have students become more aware of the main, current events that are science related so that they can more actively participate or have an opinion as to whats going on in the world that relates to their generation. Hopefully, if I help them realize some of these topics, they can see how science can be related to their own life and will realize that their voice matters.
